The Chicago Harbor Lighthouse holds a special place in the city's history, which made us think, "How can we bring back its charm?" Inspired by the research and work of the Friends of the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse, we envision a transformation of this historic landmark into a vibrant hangout spot for the people of Chicago.
Cafe and Museum
Can the Lighthouse host a welcoming cafe and museum? The lower level of the lighthouse could house a bustling cafe, offering a unique place for people to relax and enjoy views of Navy Pier. Meanwhile, the lighthouse structure can host a unique museum on the water to showcase Chicago's maritime history.
Viewing Deck
The lighthouse's uppermost levels would serve as a viewing deck, offering visitors breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. The lighthouse's unique location makes it an ideal venue for viewing Navy Pier weekly fireworks display.
