Designer's Statement

After a long day's hustle at work or school, find solace in this retreat. It's a space crafted for relaxation and recharging, fostering connections among visitors amidst various levels of privacy and interaction. Integrated sidewalk seating abolishes boundaries, inviting all to pause and socialize. Surrounding herb-filled planters, boasting fragrant rosemary, mint, and jasmine, engage the senses, elevating the serene experience. Dark-hued circular towers blend seamlessly with existing trees while light-colored seating seamlessly integrates with the welcoming sidewalk, offering a tranquil escape for all.

Several factors guided my decisions, including the flow of human traffic determining the positioning of each tower and the curved seating near the path, designed to welcome passersby with fragrant herbs. A key focus was leveraging the inherent beauty of the site, avoiding overshadowing it. The beauty of the trees was accentuated by aligning the tower heights with the leaves, offering an opportunity to appreciate their magnificence. Spanning bridges between the towers cast refreshing shade over existing pathways, providing a respite from the sun for passersby. The curved designs of the towers and seating seamlessly merge with the natural surroundings, presenting a contrast to the rigid confines of classrooms and offices, creating a distinct and harmonious impression.
