Engage is a new web app that digitizes the familiar sticky notes feedback concept to gather insights and provide a new medium for participation.
How can Engage be helpful to architecture schools?
We would love to see Engage be used to spark interesting ideas and activate your students' exploration of community engagement. The first way this could happen is to use Engage as a tool for students to gather feedback on their designs from the communities they are designing for.
Through an Engage sticky notes form, students can send their proposed designs to community, family, and friends to request feedback. For example, if the student is designing a new mixed-use building on an empty lot in town, they may send their survey to local residents or businesses close to that lot. Community members can submit their sticky note responses and the student can practice receiving feedback and learn about the community engagement process that is so integral to the architecture profession. This combo of novel activity and direct involvement can be a powerful learning tool.
This is just one use case for using Engage. It can also be part of final reviews, internal surveys, and much more.
Engage is free to sign up and offer to your students. We are available to answer any questions/concerns you may have.
